The fibre-optic cable has better operational reliability – for example, it is less affected by thunderstorms. It is a technology that will allow the speed of the connection to be easily increased in the future. This may not be possible on the existing cable/network. With the cable, you can use better quality services, which are increasingly available.

The TV image will be more stable because the fibre-optic cable is more reliable.

This depends on the exact speed in use. If a lower speed is used, the monthly fee usually remains the same. In most cases, you can get twice the speed for one to two euros more per month.

The average network completion time is 6 months. You can see the exact completion date on the Telia website by entering your address. Once the network is up and running, Telia will contact you either by email or by phone.

Once there are no more copper cable-based customer connections in the region (on a project basis, by region).

Joining is free for clients of Telia home services, but new customers will be charged depending on the specifics of their region. We will also restore the original situation in the case of in-plot works and in total, the connection will be reasonably priced for the amount of work involved.

In most cases, existing home services will work with the same equipment as the fibre connection and there is no need to replace the router.

Yes, we can still do it, but bringing the cable to your home for free or at a discount is valid while the project is ongoing. Afterwards, the price will depend on the volume of work involved. As a solution, you can bring the cable into the room at the moment, and during the renovation you can lay out the network in the rooms as needed.

You can also join Telia’s Internet and TV services if your home is in one of our partner networks. If you already have Telia fibre-optic capacity at your address, Telia does not offer services on its partners’ networks.

For new developments, there are two options in the network construction process – either build it yourself or order the connection work from Telia.
