Mobile ID is about to expire / has expired. How to continue with the service?
If you wish to continue using the Mobile-ID Service, you will need to change your SIM card and re-subscribe to the Mobile-ID service. You can only sign a Mobile-ID contract with your ID-card! Therefore, you need an ID-card reader and its PIN codes.
If you do not want to use the Mobile-ID service, you can continue to use the same SIM card.
Mobile ID certificates are linked to your SIM card with Mobile ID support. When the certificates expire, you will need to replace your SIM card and order a new Mobile-ID service.
The certificates are valid for 5 years. Upon their expiry, the service will be terminated automatically and SK ID Solutions will revoke the certificates – from that moment, the service will be void.
Telia will send your Mobile ID-enabled SIM card to the address you have registered with Telia (provided you have an Estonian contact aadress in the Telia database) before the certificates expire.
We will send a text message about the SIM card to the number associated with your Mobile ID service 30 days before the certificates expire. If necessary, you can change your delivery address within 7 days in Telia's self-service.
If you have not received the SIM card sent to you by Telia, order a new SIM card with Mobile ID support from or ask from from a Telia office.
Once you have received your new card, you will first need to activate your new SIM card, and only then can you order a new Mobile-ID. The following steps in the guide are here to help you out.
You will need your ID card PIN codes and ID card reader to sign a Mobile-ID contract.
