Telia Named Responsible Company 2017

Yesterday, winners of the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards 2017 were announced. Telia was named Responsible Company 2017.
 

According to Heddy Ring, Head of Sponsorships and CSR at Telia Estonia, responsible entrepreneurship is very important for the company, and thus it is a great acknowledgment to all Telia employees who take principles of responsible business into account in their daily work.
 
The jury of the competition described Telia as having a new, fresh, and complete approach in all sub-areas of responsible business. It was said that responsibility is entailed in the business model of Telia Estonia, and Telia’s new environmentally friendly office building with task-based workstations also received much praise. Additionally, company’s environmental management standard and supply chain management have gone through an overhaul.


The following companies where nominees for the Responsible Company award: BaltCap, Telia Estonia, SEB Bank, and Leib Restoran.


All nominees went through a process where activities related to company’s main business were evaluated, including activities related to company’s strategy, management and daily work, and which had foreseen benefits and included different stakeholders (employees, members of the local community, etc.). The evaluation included activities for the last five years. Additionally, company’s ability to implement responsible activities depending on company’s size was taken into consideration.


The purpose of the Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards is to recognize entrepreneurs and all entrepreneur-minded organizations. The awards were given out in seven main categories.
