New Digital Solution Lowers Online Media Subscription Cost

This week, in cooperation between Ekspress Meedia, Ajakirjade Kirjastuse, SL Õhtuleht, and Telia, the Newsstand service was launched, which offers convenient online access to popular newspapers and magazines.

“Newsstand makes it possible to subscribe to three media outlets for only €4.99 a month, which helps our customers to save on costs quite substantially,“ said Maksim Melamed, Value Added Services Area Manager at Telia Estonia.

“Customers can try the service for free for the first month, which is a great opportunity to check out the Newsstand service, as well as newspapers and magazines. Additionally, it is possible for the user to share its subscription with up to five family members or friends,“ Maksim Melamed added.

According to Maksim Melamed, Newsstand is available to customers of all Estonian mobile operators for the same terms.

Newsstand offers a selection of 14 media outlets - newspapers Eesti Päevaleht, Eesti Ekspress, Maaleht, and Õhtuleht, and magazines Anne ja Stiil, Eesti Naine, Kalale!, Kodukiri, Kroonika, Maakodu, Naisteleht, Oma Maitse, Pere ja Kodu, and Tervis Pluss. The customer can subscribe to 3 newspapers/magazines, which can be accessed via various devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops).

Newsstand users can read their subscriptions via a browser or mobile app. Readers of daily newspapers (Eesti Päevaleht, Maaleht, Õhtuleht) have an online access via newspaper websites and also Delfi.ee

Subscribers can change their subscriptions at any time via Telia’s online self-service center. The new subscription becomes valid on the first day of the next month.

According to Maksim Melamed, the Newsstand service is a good choice for Christmas present because of its flexibility, and would be suitable for grandparents, because it is possible to change the subscription each month without leaving the computer.
