Telia Offers Residential Customers Free Mobile Internet during General Malfunctions

No technology company is completely protected from unexpected malfunctions, but customers need services to be restored quickly. In order to alleviate these situations, Telia offers its residential customers unlimited free mobile internet during general malfunctions.

Malfunctions can be caused by a number of different factors, from lightning damages to cable cut-offs caused by digging mistakes.

“Of course, we are always doing our best to fix malfunctions as soon as possible, but, depending on the type of malfunction, the repairs can take time. Thus, we decided to offer our residential customers a solution that provides high-quality internet connection for home and mobile internet customers in case of malfunctions,“ said Maksim Tšelpanov, Development Manager at Telia Estonia.

When malfunction occurs, affected Telia customers receive a SMS with malfunction notification and estimated time when it will be fixed. Additionally, customers receive information on how to use mobile internet during the malfunction period.

“The service is easy to activate – the SMS includes a link to Telia’s service support website. Customers are automatically identified based on IP address. The only prerequisite for using free mobile data is being a customer of both Telia’s home and mobile internet services,“ Tšelpanov added.

In the future, this option will become available also to business customers. Additionally, Telia is considering extending this offer to customers affected by isolated incidents.
