CALL BARRING

In addition to barring options offered by the phone, Telia clients can also restrict their calls with call barring.

CALL BARRING

The barring options can be activated or terminated by using a 4-digit barring code, which is 0000 (four zeros) by default.

You can restrict outgoing calls on your phone. When Outgoing Call Barring has been activated, you will not be able to make outgoing calls and/or send text messages (SMS) with your phone.

NB! Outgoing calls cannot be barred if call forwarding has been activated on the phone.

Makes it possible to apply barring to incoming calls, while still enabling outgoing calls. When Incoming Call Barring has been activated, you will not be able to receive incoming calls and/or send text messages with your phone. The caller will hear the following announcement: "This number has been temporarily closed."

This service is useful for when you lend your mobile phone to someone else for making calls, but do not want them to answer the incoming calls to your telephone number.

You will not be able to make international calls from your phone, when this barring option has been activated. The activation of International Call Barring restricts your outgoing calls in a way that you will be able to make outgoing calls only to phone numbers of your country of location. If you are currently in Estonia, you will only be able to call Estonian phone numbers; when residing in Germany, you will only be able to call German phone numbers, etc.

This service is useful when you lend your phone to someone else to use, but do not want them to use your phone to make international calls at your expense.

This service is useful when someone else is using your phone number while abroad and you want them to be able to keep in touch with people in Estonia, but not enable other international calls.

USER-CONTROLLED CALLER ID

A User-Controlled Caller ID allows you to decide whether or not you want to display your phone number to the recipient of the call.

The service enables you to choose whether the default setting is to display or not display your phone number. "By default" means that the choice that you have made will apply until you choose the opposite option: if the default selection allows for displaying the number, then it shall be displayed; if the default selection forbids to display the number, then it shall not be displayed.

The User-Controlled Caller ID service is operational after you have signed a contract with Telia, i.e. you will not have to order the service separately once you are already a client of Telia. No monthly fees or user fees apply to this service.

USING THE SERVICE

You can control your caller ID:

  • with a operator service code,
  • via the phone menu.

Controlling the caller ID with a operator service code

A corresponding code has to be entered prior to entering the phone number:

  • #31# – if the default option allowed for displaying of the caller ID, it will not be displayed for this call.
  • *31# – if the default option forbade displaying the caller ID, it will be displayed for this call.

Frequently used phone numbers can be saved with the appropriate code *31# (allows) or #31# (forbids).

Controlling caller ID through the phone menu will be carried out according to the instruction manual of the mobile phone.

KNOCK FUNCTION

If the Knock function has been activated, you will be able to hear a sound signalling another incoming call on the background of an ongoing call.

KNOCK FUNCTION

The Knock function is useful when you are expecting an important call, but still want to be able to receive and make other calls while waiting for it.

This service is operational after you have signed a contract with Telia, i.e. you will not have to order the service separately once you are already a client of Telia. No monthly fee applies.

USING THE SERVICE

When you are currently talking on the phone, the next caller will hear the following notification if you have previously activated the Knock function: "The mobile phone you are calling is currently busy. Please wait or try calling again in a little while." (Usually the caller would just get a busy tone.)

  • If you hear the knock on the background, you have several options:
  • End your current call and wait for the phone to ring again. Then pick up the call.
  • Connect the knocking call as an enquiry call by pressing 2 and the call start key. The ongoing call will be put on hold. You can alternate between the calls by pressing 2 and the call start key.
  • End your current call by pressing 1 and the call start key, then move on to the knocking call.
  • In order to end the knocking call, press 0 and the call start key.

The knocking call will end in 25 seconds if you do not react to the knocking.

If you have activated Forwarding, the knocking call will be forwarded to the predetermined number, when you do not answer your phone in the set time period.

ENQUIRY CALL

An Enquiry Call allows you to put your original call on hold, make a call to another phone and then alternate between the two calls.

ENQUIRY CALL

This service is useful when you have to reach an agreement with different people, mediate something or coordinate matters with several parties. Be sure to check the instruction manual of your mobile phone to see whether it supports the Enquiry Call function (Call Hold).

In order to start an enquiry call, press 2, the call start key and enter the necessary phone number, during your first call. When you have finished entering the phone number, press the call start key. The ongoing call will be put on hold.

A successful enquiry call provides the following options:

  • If you wish to end the enquiry call and turn back to the initial call, press 1 and the call start key.
  • If you wish to put the enquiry call on hold and turn back to the initial call, press 2 and the call start key. In that case the enquiry call will be put on hold. This way you can alternate between calls, leaving one call on hold while taking the other one.
  • In order to end a call that is currently on hold, press 0 and the call start key.
  • If the person you are trying to reach with an enquiry call does not answer or their line is busy, press 1 and the call start key to go back to the initial call.

All calls will end automatically when the person who initiated the calls ends their call.

The Enquiry Call service is operational after you have signed a contract with Telia, i.e. you will not have to order the service separately once you are already a client of Telia. No monthly fees apply to this service. Enquiry calls are paid for by the person who made the calls and they will be charged for two separate calls.

CONFERENCE CALL

The Conference Call service allows for up to 20 people to converse simultaneously.

The service is beneficial when all participants have to take part of the conversation at the same time and hear what others are saying.

Conference call participants will hear a signal in the background after every 15 seconds, which notifies them of participation in a conference call.

This service allows for up to six people to converse simultaneously. The service is beneficial when all participants have to take part of the conversation at the same time and hear what others are saying.

If you wish to partake in a conference call, start by calling the first participant. Then select the enquiry call by pressing 2 and the call start key. After connecting the enquiry call, press 3 and the call start key, and the conference call with three participants is formed.

Conference call participants will hear a signal in the background after every 15 seconds, which notifies them of participation in a conference call.

The following options are available during a conference call:

  • You can add new participants by selecting another enquiry call by pressing 2 and the call start key, and then pressing 3 and the call start key once the call has been connected. This way you can add up to 5 participants to a conference call.
  • You can end the call with any of the participants by pressing 1, X and the call start key (X marks the serial number assigned to the call). For example, in order to end a call with a person who was added as the third participant, press 1, 3 and the call start key.
  • You can also leave everyone else on hold and talk to one participant separately, while allowing others to continue talking among themselves. In order to do so press 2, X and the call start key (X marks the serial number assigned to the person who you wish to talk to separately).
  • In order to restore the conference call press 3 and the call start key.
  • You can put all participants on hold and make a new call, while allowing other parties to continue talking among themselves. To do so, enter a phone number and press the call start key.
  • If you want to end the conference call, press on the call termination key. This will end all calls.

The Conference Call service is operational after you have signed a contract with Telia, i.e. you will not have to order the service separately once you are already a client of Telia. No monthly fees apply to this service.

The initiator of the conference call will be charged for it and the fee will be calculated separately for each call.

This Conference Call service allows to converse with up to 20 parties, who can be all over the world – all you have to do is agree on a time for the conference call and order the service.

Once you have ordered the Conference Call service, it will be valid for 10 days, during which you can make as many conference calls as you like.

If you would like to make conference calls that do not match the regular conference call description, you can contact us and order a special solution, which has been compiled based on your wishes.

ORDERING

To order a conference call, call he phone number 900 1100 and press key 1 on your phone. To order a special solution, press 2.

USING THE SERVICE

Once you have ordered the service, notify all the participants of the time of the conference call, send them the PIN code and the number 6119 916.

In order to join in on the call, all participants will have to call the aforementioned number at the agreed upon time and enter the PIN code. All calls with the same PIN code will be connected into one conference call.

You will be notified of all joining and leaving participants throughout the call.

The Conference Call with up to 6 participants cannot be made abroad (roaming).

CALL TRANSFER

The Call Transfer Service allows Telia clients to forward received calls without the callers having to call that number themselves. The initial recipient of the call, i.e. the transferer of the call, will be removed from the call after the transferral.

CALL TRANSFER

This service is useful for secretaries who need to forward calls to sales personnel or specialists, without interrupting the connection with the caller (client). The caller and the recipient of the transferred call can be a client of any telecommunications operator in Estonia or elsewhere.

The Call Transfer service does not have to be ordered in advance and it is accessible for all Telia service plans (excl. Simpel and POP! calling cards; M2M, MobiKIT, HomeKIT and Wireless Internet plans).

USING THE SERVICE

When transferring a call, the initial recipient has to make a call to the number to which they wish to forward the current call. In order to make an enquiry call during an existing call, the initial recipient has to press 2 and OK, then enter the necessary phone number and press OK once more. The ongoing call will be put on hold.

After making the enquiry call, the existing call has to be connected to the number of the enquiry call by selecting the option "Transfer" from the mobile phone menu. During the enquiry call, the call menu of the mobile phone will display an option for transferring calls under the name of "Transfer" or something similar, depending on the exact phone model. Whether or not a specific mobile phone allows for call transfer can be checked from the instruction manual of the phone.

During an enquiry call, one is able to use all enquiry call functions – alternating calls, ending a call that is currently on hold, etc. Once a call has been transferred, the person who transferred it will no longer be able to participate in the call, neither to they have any control over the length or ending of the call.

NB! Transferring is not possible in the case of conference calls. Neither is it possible to transfer a reverse charge call.

PRICES

  • A client making a call that will later be transferred will be charged (for the full duration of the call) based on the number they have called, regardless of the number they will be transferred to.
  • A client transferring the call will be charged for the transferred call, according to the number that the call is transferred to and for the entire duration of the transferred call.
  • The person transferring the call will have no control over the duration of the call after they have transferred it; however, they shall pay for the transferred call, from the moment of initiating the transferred until the end of the call.

For example:

  • A calls B and pays a plan-based price for calling B. If A and B are both Telia clients, A will pay the price set for calling within the Telia network.
  • B then makes an enquiry call to C and pays a plan-based price for calling C.
  • B transfers the call to C.
  • A and C will be connected and B will no longer be a part of the call, once the call has been transferred.

Charging

Calls can also be transferred to Speed Dialling numbers, in that case, the price of Speed Dialling will apply.

CALL FORWARDING

Call forwarding enables you to automatically forward incoming calls made to your mobile phone on the basis of predetermined conditions.

CALL FORWARDING

In the case of unconditional forwarding, all incoming calls will immediately be forwarded to a number you have previously set. Forwarding is also conducted when your phone has been switched off, i.e. incoming calls to your number will be forwarded to the predetermined number even when you switch your phone off.

Unconditional forwarding is a great option for when your battery is about to run out. Forwarding your calls to another number means that you will be able to answer incoming calls on that number despite the fact that your phone battery may be empty.

Unconditional forwarding is functional after you have signed a contract with Telia, i.e. you do not have to sign up for a separate service, nor are there any monthly fees for the service./p>

USING THE SERVICE

The knock function will not apply in the case of unconditional forwarding. Only unconditional forwarding will apply if both unconditional forwarding and conditional forwarding have been activated concurrently.

If you are using a voicemail service, then in the case of unconditional forwarding, the calls will not be directed to voicemail, but to the other number instead.

Most mobile phones have this function enabled in the phone's menu, but you will also be able to adjust the corresponding settings by following these instructions:

An incoming call will be forwarded to another number if it is not picked up within a set time period.

This service is useful if you want that calls you might accidentally leave unanswered would definitely be answered, for example in situations where you are unable to answer the phone yourself. A call will be forwarded to a predetermined number only if it you have not answered it within the set time period.

This forwarding option lets you answer calls selectively: you can keep track of phone numbers on your phone screen and decide whether you want to answer a particular call or forward it to another number.

If you are using a voicemail service, then in the case of this type of forwarding, the calls will not be directed to voicemail, but to the other number instead.

You can choose the time period, after which an unanswered call will be forwarded to another number. The duration for this period can be 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds. If the time is not regulated before activating the forwarding, then a previously specified time period applies. The forwarding period will be 25 seconds, if the time period has never been entered.

You do not have to sign up for a separate service, nor are there any monthly fees for the service.

This service is useful when you want to have to take a long call, but also wish that calls incoming during that longer call would be received at a different number.

If the knock function and forwarding have been activated concurrently, the knock function will be in enforced. In that case, you will hear the knock notification of an incoming call without being able to forward it to the predetermined number.

Forwarding when the phone is not in the service area or has been switched off

Calls will be forwarded to another number if a connection cannot be established with your phone (the phone is switched off, outside of the network service area, or is currently in a congested network area). However, calls will not be forwarded to another number if you can currently receive calls on your phone.

This service is useful when you are planning to attend a mass event, which may cause a network congestion and make it harder for others to reach you via phone, or when you are in an area where GSM coverage can be patchy. Calls will be directed to your number, when your phone has service and is switched on; however, when calls cannot get through to your phone, the calls will be redirected to another number you have previously determined. This way it will be ensured that all calls made to your number shall be answered.

You do not have to sign up for a separate service, nor are there any monthly fees for the service.

This service makes it possible to deactivate all active forwarding settings on your mobile phone. Most mobile phones have this function partially enabled in the phone's menu, but you will also be able to adjust the corresponding settings by following these instructions:

Termination of forwarding and reactivation of the same forwarding option

If you terminate forwarding by pressing only one # with the termination code it will be possible to reactivate the same forwarding setting without entering the full length code. This is useful when you often forward calls to the same number. In this case, you will be able to activate forwarding to the same number without entering the same full length forwarding code.

When you have terminated all forwarding settings with the code #002#call start key, you can later reactivate these forwarding settings with the code *002#call start key. This applies to all types of forwarding.

For example: when terminating all conditional forwarding settings with the code #61#call start key, the same forwarding setting can be reactivated with the code *61#call start key.

Forwarding is a great option for when you know that you will not be able to answer your mobile phone, but you want to ensure that all incoming calls get answered nevertheless.

Call forwarding in Estonia

No minute based prices apply to calls forwarded to Telia numbers: the client who activated the forwarding will not have to pay to Telia for the calls forwarded from their mobile phone number.

Forwarding calls to the phone numbers of other telecommunications operators in Estonia will be charged according to Telia's minute based prices of calls made to other Estonian networks.

A call forwarded from a mobile phone number will be charged on the same basis as a call made from that number.

Forwarding to phone numbers of foreign countries will be charged by Telia according to the minute based prices of international calls, therefore, calls forwarded from your mobile phone number will be charged on the same basis as international calls made from that number.

Call forwarding abroad

Unconditional and conditional call forwarding when outside the service area or when the phone is switched off will generally be charged on the same basis as call forwarding in Estonia.

Conditional forwarding of calls, if the calls are left unanswered or if the number is busy, shall be charged according to the sum charged for answering calls in a foreign country and the sum of calling a number forwarded from the roaming operator network.

Call forwarding can be conducted to phone numbers of the following countries:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Lithuania, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, France, Sweden, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Great Britain, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Russia and Ukraine.
