If you cannot answer your calls, you can divert them to voicemail. The caller hears your personal message or a preset notification

Frequently asked questions regarding voicemail

Dial 147. Define the order in which messages are played back to you.

Go to the Telia self-service and select an email address for receiving voicemail messages from others, as well as messages saved by you.

Dial 1478 and include voicemail in your call, or record your idea. The audio file will be sent to your email.

Record a greeting which the caller will hear upon reaching voicemail

Configure your voicemail to only play your greeting for the caller, without an option to leave a message. You will receive a short message with the caller’s number.

If you want to leave a message directly to someone’s voicemail, add a prefix 148 to the phone number. This way the call will go directly to voicemail. The recipient’s phone will not ring, instead the recipient will receive a SMS.

  • 147 – voicemail main menu in Estonia. You can listed to messages and change voicemail settings
  • Voicemail number – your mobile phone number
  • 148 – direct number to voicemail. Add 148 as a prefix when dialing the number (e.g. 1485XXXXXX). This number can be used only in Estonia.
  • 1478 – it is not a separate short number, however, it enables using voicemail’s “call recording” function. To call voicemail, dial 147 and press 8, or to go directly to recording, dial 1478
  • +3725096006 – listen to voicemail messages and configure your voicemail.
  • +3725096007 – direct forwarding (needed when default forwarding conditions do not meet your needs)
  • +3725096066 – use call recording function to record your own call while being abroad

Change your default PIN code first time you call to your voicemail, so the next time you can:

  • listen to messages right away
  • listen to messages from other numbers
  • listen to messages while being abroad

To change the PIN code, enter a new 4-digit code. PIN code cannot be contain symbols * and # and cannot be 0000. NB! If these requirements are ignored, you will be repeatedly asked to change the PIN code.

Also, it is recommended to record your greeting and enter your email address.

The calls are always forwarded to voicemail, if:

  • you are outside the network coverage area
  • the mobile phone is switched off
  • you don’t answer the call within 30 seconds (it is only possible to decrease this time)

Additionally, you can activate direct forwarding if default forwarding conditions do not meet your needs, for example if you want to decrease the time when unanswered call is forwarded to voicemail. Direct forwarding number in Estonia is +3725096007

From your own phone number:

  • 147 or 5096006
  • While being abroad +3725096006

From someone else’s phone:

  • 148+mobile number
  • after the greeting, press #
  • enter PIN code

This way you can call your voicemail from any phone.

Call someone else’s voicemail:

  • 148+mobile number.

This way you can call directly to any Telia’s customer voicemail.

It is not possible to call someone’s voicemail while being abroad.

It is possible to call voicemail from Telia’s landline as an owner, but first you must set it up.

In roaming networks, calls are forwarded to voicemail only if the phone is switched off or outside the network coverage area.

To listen to your voicemail messages while being abroad, dial +3725096006. If your number can be recognized, you will reach your voicemail immediately. If your number cannot be recognized:

  • you’ll hear your voicemail greeting (to access voicemail, press # and enter your PIN code)

  • You are asked to enter your voicemail number and then your PIN code

It is not possible to access your voicemail in roaming networks if your PIN code has not been changed (0000) (the number cannot be recognized or is transmitted incorrectly).

To call voicemail service menu, dial 147.

  • Press to 2 to listen to messages in descending order
  • Press to 1 to listen to messages in ascending order
  • Press 6 to skip message header and go directly to main content

First message is played back. You can continue with following options:

  • repeat: 1
  • store (for 7 days): 4
  • delete: 5
  • next: 6

Following options are available during playback:

  • rewind 8 seconds: 1
  • rewind to beginning of message: 4
  • fast forward 8 seconds: 3
  • fast forward to end of message: 6

Resend the message to email: press 22 before the message ends and next one begins.

To call voicemail service menu, dial 147. To configure your voicemail, press 3.

    It is not possible to change owner’s number. Here you can also activate or deactivate SMS notifications.

To save your greeting, press 4 in the main menu (147).

Save your own greeting which will be played for the caller. You can use the greeting in two ways: as a greeting or as your name.

Example of how the caller hears the greeting:
“Hello! You’ve reached John Smith’s voicemail. I am unable to answer your call right now. Please leave a message”.

Example of how the caller hears the name (text in italic displays default text):
"Hello! Please leave your message on voicemail."

PIN code protects your voicemail so that others are not able to listen to your voicemail and change voicemail settings. PIN code has four digits and can be changed at any time. Initial PIN code is 0000. In the main menu, select “PIN code” (5) and enter a new four-digit PIN code. PIN code cannot be contain symbols * and # and cannot be 0000.

Voicemail can store important thoughts and ideas that come up during a call. You can also store your phone conversation by creating a conference call and adding voicemail service to the list of participants.

To record a conversation, create a conference call with voicemail and another party and connect both calls. For example, make a call to voicemail by dialing 1478, put the voicemail call on hold, call to another person and then create a conference call by holding down key 3.

NB! Make sure to configure your email address - the system will use this address to forward all recorded calls as audio files to your computer. To configure your email address, place a call to voicemail by dialing 147 and follow the instructions. Alternatively, you can configure your email address at the Telia self-service - select menu item Services -> Voicemail -> press Configure. Enter your email address to field “Email address for messages”. The call is recorded in 5-minute cycles (total recording time is 30 minutes) without interruptions. All recordings can also be found in inbox under stored messages.

Attempted call guarantees that the voicemail users will receive a notification about the call even if the caller does not leave a message in voicemail.

Notification about an attempted call is not sent if the caller’s number is hidden or the caller presses * during the call.
