CHANGES IN SWITCHBOARD CONNECTIONS

By the end of 2016, we will update the technology in Telia's ISDN switchboards with newer, VoIP solutions.


WHICH SWITCHBOARD CONNECTIONS WILL WE RECONFIGURE?

The following service and product solutions will be changed in 2016 and replaced with VoIP switchboard ISDN products:

  • OFFICE ISDN - voice communication solution with switchboard, up to 10 phone numbers
  • OFFICE ISDN 2 - voice communication solution with switchboard, up to 20 phone numbers
  • ISDN BASE CONNECTION FOR SWITCHBOARD - ISDN connection with phone network for connecting client switchboard
  • ISDN PRIMARY CONNECTION FOR SWITCHBOARD - ISDN connection with phone network for connecting client switchboard

HOW WILL THE CHANGES IN THE CONNECTION TECHNOLOGY TAKE PLACE?

We have defined a precise transfer action plan for each customer, and we will notify you by mail about the exact time when your company's transfer will take place.

WHAT WILL WE DO TO CARRY OUT THESE CHANGES?

A new IP connection will be built in the client's ISDN PBX for the VoIP switchboard ISDN product and an ISDN VoIP Gateway will be installed for "translating" the traffic.

Technology is changed by two different methods:

1. Gateway in Telia's node.

The device for transferring from ISDN to VoIP will be installed in the network node of Telia, the line portion leading to the client and the client's end devices will remain the same. We will notify you of the exact time of the work by mail. Due to the nature of the technical solution, we will build only connections for the ISDN base switchboard in GW nodes.

2. Gateway at the client.

A new IP base connection will be built at the client level, and a VoIP ISDN Gateway installed for "translating" traffic. Access to the client's communications room with the ability to install devices will be required in the course of the technology replacement process. We will contact you by phone to agree upon the time of the work. With this solution, all other ISDN base and primary connections to the switchboard will be built.

Most widely used surveillance devices will continue to work. We have carried out specific test for G4S surveillance equipment with DTMF and FSK protocols: Atlas 8, Matrix 6, MG5000, DSC PC1565. All of these devices remain functional with VoIP ATA, Thomson and Inteno routers, VoIP switchboard phones and VoIP switchboard ISDN.
We recommend transferring to an IP-based payment terminal, but most widely used dial-up devices will definitely still work. Dial-up payment terminals Ingenico ICT220 and Hypercom T4220 have passed tests in cooperation with Nets, and card payments as well as with certificate updates that have also worked.
Lift phone solutions have been tested in cooperation with lift maintenance providers Kone and Otis, and their solutions work.
All portless redirections will automatically be transferred to the VoIP switchboard ISDN service and the redirects will continue to work.
The present IN redirect has already been updated and replaced with the 'intelligent' IS redirect. The service is activated for all VoIP switchboard numbers. For setup, please call the IS number 6119925 (Estonian) or 6119926 (Russian) and follow the instructions.
If the redirecting number is displayed for calls redirected from the PBX with the new VoIP ISDN switchboard, we recommend using IS redirecting instead of PBX redirecting. The service is activated for all numbers and the setup is very simple. For setup, call the IS number 6119925 (Estonian) or 6119926 (Russian) and follow the instructions.
Modem communications will remain functional with the VoIP switchboard ISDN solution, but the speed of the modem should be set to 1200 bit/s max. (V.21, V.22bis, V.23)
Faxes will continue to work and a G3 fax with a transmission speed of up to 14.4 kbit/s is guaranteed.
